Reasons to Join the Chamber
A vital Chamber of Commerce is the core of any successful community. Salem is no exception. The chamber organizes and/or contributes to local events and lends its voice to local governmental issues that help grow the area.
ADVERTISING – Members are offered the opportunity to participate in chamber-subsidized discounted group advertising in local and regional publications several times during the calendar year. Members also receive discounted rates when advertising with the Journal-Press.
MEMBERSHIP – Our membership directory lists all member businesses, with physical and e-mail addresses.
WEBSITE – (www.salemnychamber.com) We provide full membership lists, by name and business category. Businesses are listed with active links to email and websites. Community and member events are advertised free-of-charge on our Events page. An always-updated Calendar is online, also free, with participation available to all members.
FACEBOOK – The Chamber Facebook page is constantly updated, culling and posting news of member events and business specials from the businesses’ own Facebook pages and entering any appropriate information provided by a member.
CALENDAR – A calendar on our website can include member events, listed free for members, with sponsorship by participating member advertisers, whose businesses are featured in the publication (an opportunity offered to all members).
SIGNS – Signs for better communication between our businesses/civic organizations and visitor/tourists include a signpost designed by Salem Art Works at the main intersection of town, featuring signs of individual chamber member businesses (limited availability) and the Lakes-to-Locks historical information and community bulletin board.
